Photoshop CS4/CS4 Workshop

Learn how to use the most advanced photo editing software.

Workshop Overview

A one on one workshop that will help you understand how to use Photoshop CS4 or CS5 software to do pretty much anything that you want with your photos. You will learn things like taking objects out of a photo, removing blemishes, correcting colors and brightness, increasing the contrast, etc.

We meet twice at our studio, usually one week apart. Each meeting lasts about three hours, during which we will cover as much matterial as possible, depending on your computer speed and computer skills.

We will work directly on your photos, so make sure to bring plenty of photos that need retouching. That shouldn't be too hard ;)

Material Covered

We cover as much material as you can handle in two three-hour sessions. The main topics that we will cover are:

  • RAW files & RAW processing
  • Shortcuts & program defaults
  • Understanding layers
  • Layer masking
  • Adjustment layers
  • Adjusting colors & color balance
  • Curves, contrast, brightness, etc.
  • Selection tools
  • Cloning and healing
  • Blending and aligning
  • Sharpening & noise reduction
  • Preparing for print or web
  • Other advanced features

Requirements

Decent computer skills. Know your way around your computer, where your photos are located, how the computer imports them, etc. The more computer savvy you are, the faster the learning process will be.

A good computer - bring your desktop. We cannot emphasize enough the importance of a fast computer. Any recent Mac Book Pro, iMac, or MacPro will do. So will new PC desktops, but not PC laptops. Even the best PC laptop at the local computer store will have difficulties handling Photoshop.

Photoshop CS4 or CS5. Please note that this is NOT a Photoshop Elements or Photoshop Lightroom workshop. If you don't own a copy of Photoshop CS5, you can buy it here. Educational discount is 80% here if you qualify. If you are not ready to buy the program but still want to take the workshop, download a trial a few days before our meeting.

If you have Lightroom installed on your computer, we will cover the RAW processing part using Lightroom.

Payment & Discounts

The workshop is $250 plus registration fees. If you have a friend that has similar computer skills with you, and owns a computer with identical in performance as yours, we offer a $50 discount per person.

All sales are final. Should you be in special circumstances that make it impossible for you to attend your workshop, we will work with you to make sure you can take the workshop at another time.
